#1 - Annual Inflation Rate Hits 4-Year Low; Groceries Have Biggest Decline in 5 Years — by streiff

This is not to say the mainstream media have given up on forecasting a recession; they haven't (see U.S. Inflation Mild Ahead of Expected Jump From Tariffs - The New York Times). But I think we are in uncharted economic waters. No one has any idea how tariffs will play out in the modern world. This is not 1930, and references to the Smoot-Hawley Tariff and the Great Depression are rather tired and indicate a preference for anti-Trump sloganeering over observation and analysis.

Should this good news continue, Trump will enter next year in a strong position to expand GOP caucuses in the Senate and House.

#2 - New: South African Government Releases Terrifyingly Chilling Statement on Fleeing White Afrikaners — by Bonchie

Reading that sent a chill down my spine. These are people whose ancestors have been in South Africa for nearly half a millennium. They are as much South Africans as black Americans are Americans, which is to say, fully. To claim they are fleeing "transformation" while citing "justice" and "accountability for historic privilege" is terrifyingly Orwellian. Everyone knows exactly what that means, which is the continued ethnic cleansing that has been endorsed by South Africa's ruling party.

At this point, the United States should not even consider reopening diplomatic ties with South Africa (the ambassador to the U.S. was expelled in March). The Trump administration should likewise pressure Europe into speaking out or face consequences. They have sat idly by, ignoring the forcible seizure of land and extra-judicial killings committed under the guise of punishing "historic privilege" simply because it's been coming from an African government.

#3 - Trump’s Comedic Genius Shines As He Rips ABC’s Martha Raddatz With Brutal New Nickname — by Rusty Weiss

The President, who does understand the difference, tore into Raddatz on his Truth Social media platform, calling her an "old timer," gently reminding her that he won the Catholic vote, and even gave her show a new nickname that will live in infamy.

"So funny to watch old timer Martha Raditz on ABC Fake News (the Slopadopolus show!) this morning, blurt out that, effectively, Pope Leo’s selection had nothing to do with Donald Trump," he railed. "It came out of nowhere, but it was on her Trump Deranged Mind."

"Remember, I did WIN the Catholic Vote, by a lot! [Disney CEO and ABC News owner] Bob Iger should do something about the losers and haters he’s got on his low-rated shows."

#4 - Judge Who Ordered Admin to Process 12,000 Refugees Tucks Tail After 9th Circuit Corrects Him...Again — by Susie Moore

As anticipated, the administration quickly sought further clarification from the 9th Circuit (and, "in light of the increasingly contentious collateral proceedings over compliance in the district court," a complete stay of the district court's injunction).

On Friday, the 9th Circuit obliged and, in a very succinct order, again clarified that plaintiffs (and by inference, Whitehead) were again reading the scope of the exemption too broadly [emphasis added]:

The government’s Motion to Amend Order Granting a Stay, or, in the Alternative, for Clarification, Dkt. 61, is GRANTED IN PART, to the extent that we provide the following further clarification of our March 25, 2025 stay order, Dkt. 28, and our April 21, 2025 order clarifying the limited carveout from the stay, Dkt. 46. Our order should be interpreted narrowly, on a case-by-case basis, to apply to individuals with a strong reliance interest arising prior to January 20, 2025, comparable to Plaintiff Pacito. The government’s motion is otherwise DENIED.

#5 - Dems Won't Like This: Latest Poll About Direction of Country Hits Astonishing Number — by Nick Arama

He said the right direction number had never been this high.

Mitchell thought that if the trend continued, he might soon be able to say that a majority of Americans thought we were on the right track. That would be astonishing, since the right track number is generally a pessimistic number.

Notice also in the above tweet that President Donald Trump's approval is at 52 percent, which is also high. Mitchell said most of that polling was before the weekend, before the wins on ceasefires, trade deals, and Hamas hostage Edan Alexander being released. So one might expect that number will ultimately be higher.
