President Donald Trump wasn't a big fan of ABC’s Martha Raddatz's commentary on Pope Leo XIV being a "counterbalance" to his administration, firing off a fierce social media message which included a brutal nickname for her show.
Raddatz, a co-anchor on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos," spoke with the Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Blase Cupich, on Sunday about the newly minted Pope and bizarrely injected politics into the conversation.
"And, of course, Pope Francis cared so much about the poor and migrants. Pope Leo does as well. In some ways, will he be a counterbalance for what’s happening in American politics right now and President Trump?" she mused.
"I think he’s going to help complete and complement our political agenda," Cupich replied. "He’ll talk a lot about the immigrants as well because he knows about the sufferings of people and the real needs that they have for a better life."

Here's hoping the Pope understands the difference between legal and illegal immigration, and how the 'suffering' of people is vastly different than what gangbangers, rapists, and murderers invading the country under President Biden bring to the table.

The President, who does understand the difference, tore into Raddatz on his Truth Social media platform, calling her an "old timer," gently reminding her that he won the Catholic vote, and even gave her show a new nickname that will live in infamy.
"So funny to watch old timer Martha Raditz on ABC Fake News (the Slopadopolus show!) this morning, blurt out that, effectively, Pope Leo’s selection had nothing to do with Donald Trump," he railed. "It came out of nowhere, but it was on her Trump Deranged Mind."

The man is simply a bottomless well of comedic genius.
Raddatz is an all-time bastion of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Whether it's her fretting over the costs involved in deporting illegal immigrants before the President even set foot in office, or practically breaking down in tears on the air when he humiliated Hillary Clinton in his first election, she is a continuing embarrassment to the field of journalism.
Catholic voters shifted heavily in favor of Trump during the 2024 presidential election, helping deliver him victory upon victory in swing states over Kamala Harris.
ABC News and George Stephanopoulos were forced to settle a defamation lawsuit brought by Trump back in December after the "This Week" co-host falsely accused him of rape. The network agreed to pay $15 million in damages and apologized.
