Here We Go: Democrats Begin Unraveling After Floodgates Open on Joe Biden's Decline

Amid discussion of Joe Biden's decline ahead of the release of the book "Original Sin" and now after, the prominent Democrats who have been asked what they knew about the former president's condition and when have denied they noticed anything was wrong.

A popular talking point among them has been to suggest that they weren't around Biden a whole lot anyway to give off the impression they might not be the person to ask such questions, even though some Democrats who had such responses, like powerful Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), were some of Biden's closest allies and friends on Capitol Hill.

"I've never worked in the White House, so I was not around Joe Biden enough to tell you anything about his decline," Clyburn, who is credited with turning Biden's 2020 presidential campaign around, told CNN in an April interview. "I saw no more in his declination than I've seen in anybody else's. I'm two years older than Joe Biden. I just have a different style than he has. And so, people all age differently."

Interestingly, of the people who were either named in the book or by the authors in interviews as knowing more - such as the so-called "Politburo" members (Ron Klain, Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, Bruce Reed, and others) - none of them have said a word in response, no confirmations but no denials, either.

But one Democrat is speaking out, angrily denouncing something in the book about Biden allegedly forgetting his name at a 2023 gathering, saying it's not true:

Former DNC Chair Jaime Harrison pushed back on reporting from Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson's new book about former President Biden on Sunday, calling the claim that the former president didn't recognize him a "bold-faced lie."

[...]

"It was a bold-faced lie. I don’t know where the hell they got that from. And I’ve told that to Alex. That is a bold-faced lie, and it's really, excuse my language, pissing me off that they continue to push it and say it. I have told them, unless I need to get a cognitive test, and I just totally forget all these things. But, I’m 49, but maybe, maybe I’ll go to my doctor and check. That did not happen," Harrison said.

But then, further proving that he has big issues with the facts, Harrison asserted that the video we all saw of Biden at that infamous June 2024 L.A. fundraiser, where he was led off the stage by former President Barack Obama, wasn't what we thought it was:

"That part where they show Barack Obama holding on to Joe Biden’s arm and leading him off, right in front of us, my wife and I, and I went to my wife when I heard about that in the book, and I said, ‘wasn’t that where those three young, it was three young white men who was standing up yelling at Joe Biden about Palestine. They were protesting right up front, and he was trying to listen to what they were saying, and Obama grabbed his arm and pulled him away. My wife said, ’yeah, I remember that.' We were sitting right there in the audience," he said.

Harrison has been posting a lot about the book since its release, in an attempt to discredit it, demanding the authors "keep my name out of your mouth."

One of the problems with Harrison's assertions about the fundraiser is that there is no record of him anywhere previously pushing back on assessments made about how Biden looked at the fundraiser at the time. Why wait until now, nearly a year after the event, and especially considering that was really the unofficial beginning of the exposure of the cover-up?

Further, Harrison was still the DNC Chairman at the time, so of course it would look bad if he acknowledged now that Biden forgot who he was, considering how he defended him for weeks after the disastrous debate. Harrison has been fiercely loyal to the Bidens since Biden endorsed him for DNC Chair in 2021, even suggesting after the 2024 election that Biden should have stayed in the race.

Harrison even went so far as to seemingly endorse a baseless conspiracy theory that Donald Trump and Republicans somehow stole North Carolina in the 2024 presidential election.

So, yeah, Harrison's credibility ranks right up there with "journalist" Aaron Rupar and ex-MSNBCer Joy Reid, which is to say, he has next to no credibility, especially when it comes to Joe Biden. That said, it's going to be interesting to see how far the "discredit the book" campaign goes, as I've already seen a smattering of leftist influencers tout alleged discrepancies.

At the end of the day, it won't matter much, though, because we didn't need a book that reportedly relied on close to 200 sources to know Joe Biden was in decline before, during, and after that fundraiser, and that the Biden-Harris White House - and the media - was working furiously to hide it from the public.
